MOSCOW, November 20. /TASS/. World Aquatics, the international swimming federation, withdrew the ban on the participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes in relay races and group disciplines on synchronized swimming and synchronized diving, the organization’s press office said.
Previously, Russian and Belarusian athletes were authorized to compete only in individual disciplines.
In September, 2023, World Aquatics announced that Russian and Belarusian athletes were once again authorized to compete in events under the organization’s aegis under a number of preconditions, including competing in a neutral status.
Russian swimmers Yulia Yefimova, Yevgeny Somov, Nika Godun, Andrey Minakov, Anna Yegorova, Ivan Kozhakin and Ivan Girev were assigned neutral status. The latter later asked to withdraw this status. Ulyana Klyueva, 2019 Champion of Europe, also has neutral status.
